Making the Dirtiest, Rustiest, Clean & Functioning Mini Fridge

Randy loves textures, and he wanted to wrap this mini fridge to look as old and worn/rusted as possible. He didn’t want to just stop at the wrap either - he wanted the whole unit to look rusted, inside & out.

We had an old Galanz 1.7 cu ft Compact Refrigerator sitting around the shop that had previously been wrapped to look like an old travel trunk. The wrap was still in great shape, but we wanted to try something new. First, we had to remove the old wrap.

Next, he started with the plastic pieces of the fridge we wouldn’t be wrapping. They got a full treatment of Modern Masters Metal Effects Iron Paint & Rust - luckily it’s summer time in Idaho, so he was able to complete the whole process in a couple hours.

Next came the wrap - a super high resolution and very convincing rusted metal texture. We printed this on our standard long-term air-release vinyl with matte lamination (learn more about our materials here) that we use on all our online orders.

You can watch the full rusting and wrapping process in the video below.

And there you have it - one of the dirtiest, rustiest, but clean & functional mini fridges ever!
